free Commune( 12th century) to the Unity of Italy (19th century). The archive has been ordered according to the nature of the acts 1) Magistracy , administrative and political offices2) Local finances, the abundance office and financial magistrature 3) Salt duties. grain taxes and duties
4) the Administration of the salt duties 5) excise duties 6) Judiciary magistrature 7) suppressed monasteries.
The archive also has a collection of documents and registers of landed property (estimates etc)
including Montecatini Val di Cecina, La Sassa,Gello, Querceto, Micciano, Montecastelli, Pomarance and Mazzolla ( 15th-19th century).
